Post by Vxr 15 »

Hi, I've been looking at the lovely raincoats from farmerrain in Sweden and they look really good quality and the look is really nice as well, i already have a raincoat from stutterheim and really like that one so does anyone have both to compare them. Thanks

Which ones have you been looking at for a comparison?
Farmerrain has 2 ranges: workwear and fashion.
Obviously the workwear range is much more workwear, while the fashion range is more ... uhm ... fashionable.

It would be the fashion range.

Agree on both counts. Stutterheim has a recognizable cut and people associate the brand with fashion... so it will look "fashionable" by default. Barely anyone knows the brand farmerrain and their regular raincoats don't really stand out, so its just a raincoat instead of a real fashion item.

The farmerrain fashion range coats costs under 100 euros though, which is not much compared to a stutterheim normally going for 225 euros. So if you got the money, go for it. If you had to chose between the two as a first coat, i would recommend the Stutterheim and i would recommend buying it now cause they have a sale going on with coats going for about half price putting the 2 in about the same price range.

I have both- Stutterheim is a fashion-only brand not aiming at commercial industrial or fishing (or whatever) use. Nice if you look for butt-length shorter coats in lots of available colors. Long coats are only a few made and currently no shiny opal one. Farmerrains retro coats are a different great piece of long coats (even a bit longer than the Stockholm long). The current price in EUR is about 140 € for the shiny regular ones. Now they offer the limited edition coats in some older coated cotton material - I'm waiting for one. It might be as close to the famous Rukka coats as never before... ;)
timeless fashion is the best fashion - classic "rubberized" raincoats are timeless
