Finally wore them outside...

Hi all,

Spent a very wet Saturday out with friends in a forest. Had my cagoule and bright orange/yellow nylon/pvc overtrousers. It was tipping it down and felt great! First time I wore those waterproofs in public (usually it’s black ones as ‘more acceptable’)

Later on, it was still raining but my waterproofs were soaking so when taking my dog out I had no choice but to wear my bib’n’brace oilskins - more bright orange - heavy duty PVC rainwear, plus wellies plus waterproof cagoule. I’ve never dared venture out in oilskins before ( I get a bit worried in my head that folk will laugh etc) but here I was all dressed up. Typically the rain stopped after a few minutes but I kept going anyway. Passed by a few cars and a couple of folk.

Looking forward to next big rainstorm -ideally at night - so I can wear them again! Whoohoooo!

Hi Teslatex. Always great to find another cagoule fan...

Sounds great fun. I used to be concerned with what people might think of me often wearing a cagoule but now I really don't care what people think if I am wearing one or have one with me. It is my choice and my business. I don't actually think anybody notices unless they, themselves have an interest in raingear. We must remember that our 'raingear radar' is always on, whereas other don't think twice. We tend to overthink it... Keep swishing..

Always something exciting when wearing something like this "out" for the first time - now wearing shiny PVC coats is just "normal" for me.
