Missed opportunities
Having been on lockdown recently I decided i was over due for a trip to town to hunt rainwear in the local charity shops.
At my first one i missed by seconds a mint condition red white and blue peter storm cagoule, spotting it from out side as i walked towards the shop window i quickly headed inside just to see a lady pick it up off the rail and carry it around the shop.
I waited to see if she would change her mind and put it back so I could grab it but sadly she went to the till and seemed pleased with her purchase as it was raining and she had ‘forgotten my mac’, needless to say i was gutted as she clearly only bought it to wear shopping that day.
I am still furious i hadn’t got there a few seconds earlier!
What have others missed out on by seconds, either rainwear or experiences?

Re: Missed opportunities
At least you were almost lucky, I haven't had a good find in a charity shop in ages. When I go to a charity shop I am on the lookout for work clothes but I keep an eye open for any rainwear that might be good to wear.

I’m the same. Always looking out for cagoules or nylon rainwear in charity shops and elsewhere but not having much luck lately.
Would love to find a true vintage Peter storm smock cagoule in either royal or navy blue. One I’ve always wanted. Seen them on eBay but I’ve always been outbidded at the last minute. Hope I’ll get lucky one day.

Do you think they might of been a member of this forum and only used the ‘forgotten my mac’ line to hide her fetish from youannabell-cagoule wrote: ↑December 13th, 2020, 7:02 pm Having been on lockdown recently I decided i was over due for a trip to town to hunt rainwear in the local charity shops.

If you always get outbid then you need to put bigger bids in to start withdiscoruss wrote: ↑December 13th, 2020, 11:36 pm I’m the same. Always looking out for cagoules or nylon rainwear in charity shops and elsewhere but not having much luck lately.

Unless it has automated bidding etc then you won't win!!rainwear-experience wrote: ↑December 14th, 2020, 9:34 amIf you always get outbid then you need to put bigger bids in to start withdiscoruss wrote: ↑December 13th, 2020, 11:36 pm I’m the same. Hmmm, some of the people on this forum can appear quite normal (some might even be normal) when out shopping not everyone is furiously wanking themselves sillyannabell-cagoule wrote: ↑December 14th, 2020, 5:15 pm Lol no she was just a regular old biddy out shopping lol

I'm always in the charity shops hoping to find cagoules and other nylon rainwear .I've used that old phrase "I've forgotten my raincoat" when I'd already planned to buy a Peter storm millets smock cagoule last year.

Did the person behind the counter give you a knowing smile and say something like:
'its amazing the number of people we get in here who've forgotten their raincoats, our raincoat buyers seem to have really poor memories, it must be all that wanking that does it'
