From Plastik-mode, has anyone bought either of these:

https://proxelements.com/foliencape-dub ... it?number=

They both look wonderful, wonder if they are soft material. And is there a way I can have those shipped to the US?

Very curious about both.

Hi Dave, I have been meaning to get those also but have never got round to it. From the photos they seem to be very similar to the Jeantex poncho that I bought and the plastic is very soft indeed; I absolutely love it. I have also bought 3 Jeantex "Toni" raincoats and a Jeantex "Frank" jacket and all are very soft and a pleasure to wear. Jeantex see-through plastic items seem to have disappeared and I have wondered whether they have been re-branded Pro-X. The Pro-X Dublin poncho is slightly different to the Jeantex poncho in that the Jeantex poncho had buttons all the way down the front. However, the Pro-X "Fred" seems very similar to the Jeantex "Toni"; I believe they both have detachable hoods. If you like soft see-through plastic rainwear then they should be worth buying. As for shipping to the US, I don't know how you would arrange that.
Regards,
Jeff.

I have one raincoat and do not recommend to buy one.
The material is neither soft nor smooth .
I never wore this coat !
It looks beautiful on the website, but I was very disappointed when it arrived.
I recommend elements or pul and I swear that I'm not working there !
PS: Maybe I had to wear a wig.

rubgum: Thank you so very much for the advice. These coats/ponchos look so much like the Jeantex, it was tempting.
Taffmac. The jeantex items were wonderful. I have one Jeantex poncho, with the buttons up the from that no one else has. I love it. So does my wife. It is beginning to get stiff and dry. I've had it for almost 25 years. I still have one size medium raincoat, I think the "Frank", new in the bag. Interestingly enough, I keep a XXL and a L of the Jeantex Franks in the back of my car for protection against true rain falls for my wife and me. Once, when we had a 4 hour night drive home, she looked at me and said" I think it looks like rain!". So we put on the Jeantex's and drove the 4 hours home, in the still of the night. By the time we got home, she was wearing nothing but the raincoat! Glad we have an attached garage with a door opener!
PUL and FunPlastic raincoats are very very good. I spend enough money at both to buy a nice car. I would rather have the raincoats! But to find the Jeantex items would be fun. Especially the poncho. My guess is the Jeantex made a corporate decision to not make the clear rain wear. Shame.

Here is a link, take a closer look at the pictures and the description.

I think the Pro-X is similar and very durable, but not for our purposes.
In Jeantex I´m very interested in, but have only one very old black mac.
PS Just found this Pro-X (ehemals K-Way) , former K-WAY, hope this helps !

Well, at long last, I can shed some light on this matter. This week I took delivery of a Pro-x Elements "Fred" raincoat and a Pro-x Elements "Dublin" poncho. They are quite different to the Jeantex equivalents.
The "Dublin" poncho was a little disappointing in that it is rather stiff and not soft and supple like the Jeantex poncho. However, I like the style with the two buttons at the neck as opposed to the buttons all the way down the front of the Jeantex poncho. The "Dublin" could also do with extra closures at the sides like the Jeantex to give better protection. Perhaps I will order a Pro-x Elements "York" poncho next time.
The Pro-x Elements "Fred" raincoat is much softer and more supple than the "Dublin" poncho and it is considerably heavier than the Jeantex "Toni". It has an attached hood unlike the Jeantex "Toni" which has a detachable hood. I haven't measured them yet but the "Fred" seems longer than the "Toni". Like the Jeantex "Toni" the "Fred" has slits in the pockets which enable you to access anything underneath the mac.
On the whole I am pleased with the purchases despite the stiffness of the poncho and I am looking forward to trying them out in the rain.
