Driving through a town, I turned out of a side road and coming towards me was a car with the number plate KI55 PVC! I don't think it was a personalised plate but it caught my eye and did make me smile.

My dad used to know a lot about car numbers. From what he showed me on DVLA database K155PVC is a current registration allocated to a 2009 black 1600cc Ford car. However, the K series of numbers were first issued in about 1990 so this may not be the first car with this number. The PVC letters after the 155 indicate that the registration wsa issued by Coventry City authority. But, of course, cars and owners of them are mobile so there is no reason why this car should not now be in Cornwall, or maybe its current owner was just on holiday. Only a copper or other legally approved person can access records of who owns any car. However, if the owner is a member of this forum let's hope that he keeps it nice and shiny.

If anybody wants a PVC number there are lots available on the DVLA website. I would think that there would be lots of BAR ones too. I have W4DER on my car. Cheers.

Just for the record, the W4DER plate that I have is not on a road going car. It is a bit of fun on a very old Austin Champ ( a poor man's copy Land Rover ) which a mechanic friend of mine modified with a raised exhaust and air intake and waterproofed ignition so that it can go through water up to 4ft deep. Great fun driving it with water up to your chest.

Yes but they were never going to be put through an MOT. Mine is held together by a combination of ŕust and mud. They have no doors so in deep water runs through. I drive mine in chest waders and have even flooded those a few times.

Several times. I've been pulled out by friendly neighbour with his tractor.

I've taken the Champ, on its trailer, to a few off road mudding events where participants seem to think it funny to smother me with as much mud and muck as they can just because I'm a woman. At these events I always wear a good rubber top over my chest waders but even with a top mud and water still gets in my face and inside my hood and down the insides a bit. That's all part of the fun, as is hosing everything down afterwards.
