I was asked this question a couple of days ago;-

Why does Rubber and Fetishism go together?

When I thought about it my answer it was "because I like it." Not a great answer I know but I could not come up with a better one.

So I'll pass it onto this forum

By your answer, blackmacjay, it sounds as though you knew about fetishes before you knew about rubber, and good on you too. But for many of us, it was rubber first. Neither was it a liking for that delectable material, but it was a love, an all consuming love. A love that endures to today, a reason to live. I knew of rubber lined mackintoshes, at the age of three years old, back in 1951 / 1952, before I could tie my own shoelaces, or tell the time. All I wanted to do, was to fondle my mother's, and my sisters rubber lined macks. I even knew that I wanted to touch my cock with it, though I didn't know why. I hadn't discovered masturbation then. Well I can't say I have as longer memory as Cammacg but I echo his statement entirely.

I am not quite old enough to remember much in the way of rubber macs( except some cagoules in the 1970's were lined with rubber) but there were loads of nylon cagoules and pvc macs of various kinds around when I was young so I guess nostalgia has a lot to do with it. Wether it is rubber, shiny nylon, or pvc there is something about the appearance of the fabric that makes us think at a very early age that there is a special quality to it.
