Anyone else praying for rain?
Hi all, don't get me wrong, I know its summer and this weather is great but is anyone else like me and praying for the rain to come, i can't wait to get my gear out and get out in it, I get withdrawl symptoms in the dry weather,

Quite agree. Too dry, needs to be wet! Best weather is when it is raining, but not so wet that the dog refuses to go out, or when it’s damp enough when you leave, but pours when you are a long way from home.

Gotta love getting caught in a downpour, I particularly like that in the woods, after a few days of rain

Saturday's forecast is rain across a lot of England as the heat wave breaks with possible thunder and lightening
Will wait and see if they are right

Broad minded enough to acknowledge we all enjoy different things:)

Much as I would love to be out in my pvc lined over trousers and cagoule, I would stand for just rain without the rainwear because it is just too hot right now. To be honest, when I chose where I wanted to be born, all those years ago, my parents told me it was probably going to be a very damp upbringing, but being just an unfertilised egg at the time, I had no idea how much I would go on to love the English weather. Best feeling in the world is being suitably zipped up all over in a huge downpour as all the fools around run for cover wearing no protection at all.

Absolutely! These past few days in the US I have been teased badly. Last night there were storms dumping loads of rain less than 20 minute drive away from where I live. Right now there are storms close by but not showing any signs of coming towards me. It's infuriating! So far this Summer has been less than stellar in terms of rain. I'm still holding on to hope that tonight and this weekend I'll get some storms to enjoy.

I tend to take it as it comes. If it's not raining I can enjoy the sunshine, that rain will return soon enough. I do spare a thought for the poor people in Germany and the Low Countries for the hammering they have taken. If it is going to be rainy this weekend I am hoping to be out in it trying out a mac I got from a charity shop a few days ago.

You'll hate me for saying this, but we've just had a very, very cold, wet & rainy day here (in Melbourne) so I took the opportunity to wear my new shiny, black, long Stutterheim Opal raincoat over my yellow FarmerRain bib pants and Ilse Jacobsen rainboots for a long walk to my local shops & back.
The rain was very heavy at times but I stayed 100% dry... you beauty!
I did receive some 'strange looks', but one person (a slightly older woman) stopped to say how much she liked my rainwear
