Sad demise of a great site.

Post by Klepperman »

I have been a silent follower of this forum for quite a few years and have at last decided its time to add my few pence worth.
Im only doing this because, throughout the world it seems like the bulk of most people get on, follow the rules, and avoid spoiling it for the majority. However, there always seems to be that small percentage who have to take it over, to diversify and make it there own. The idea of a rainwear site for lovers of rainwear is a great idea. So why do a few have to turn it into, quite frankly, sexually perverse, crude and most unappealing, I imagine, to the bulk of potential readers and/or contributors to the site. Its ok to say, everybody is entitled to their opinions and taste, skip passed it, ignore it, but you still have to read up to it first. Is there no way anything sexually 'explicit' could be given a rating of some discription? That way, at least you have a chance to avoid anything personally distasteful. Im sure I will like others, be told to naff off. So be it. I will continue to sift through and find the good content, but judging by the reading figures, the likes of me and probably many of those legendary 847, will never be seen again!

Welcome to the site.

When I post stories (well recently anyway) I indicate the content type that lays ahead, so people can decide if they want to read on. It would be good if others did the same.

I agree that, for some people, rainwear is just about fashion and the way it makes them feel, but not in a sexual way. But for me (and lots of members) it is sexual. I do however enjoy lots of content that has no sexual side such as girls fully dressed in plastic rainwear, and especially real women in the real world, such as PVC leggings and jackets. But like you, I do find some content inappropriate, but that is just based on my likes, and I get that others like things that I don’t.

Thankyou. And well put. If a few others supported the cause, perhaps the decision makers would then act. I get the fact that we all have different ideals. Bit like a curry, some like it hot, some dont. But you are given the choice on the menu. Hopefully this site will continue for a long long time. There are some great themes, and great story/fantasy writers here.

What a state of affairs. You have to join the forum to say you are leaving. This is a people site. It does not do animals or children. For Rubber, PVC and a few other fetishes, it is a broad public hall. For some people, this site gives them a chance to express themselves within the rules. People that go to far. They have to deal with some stinging replies to their posts. So stick with it. Add you comments. Make the world a bigger place.

I don’t think Klepperman is thinking of leaving, and hopefully stays to join in with the rainwear discussions. But I don’t see how warning people of explicit content ahead can be a bad thing, other than the few seconds it takes to think and write it down. It’s why TV programmes warn of flashing images ahead, so those sensitive to it can avoid having the experience when it is too late. We need to be tolerant of those that don’t want explicit content as much as those that do.

I suppose that plenty of content on here could be annoying to other members, if I have found something that is not to my taste then I do not bother reading any further. I have found in the time that I have been a member that there is plenty that I do like. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mason and Paul for setting this forum up and running it. It is often the case in life that those who do lot of unseen work do not get the appreciation that they deserve. Long may this forum keep going.

Hmmm. I won't pretend I like or enjoy some of the stories on this page.

They are not, how shall we say, my cup of tea.

Perhaps wee could create a gay fiction/non-fiction stories section which would, in my opinion, kill two birds with one stone. What do you all think?

Sounds like a good idea to me, Mason. I'm afraid hardly any of the stories here haven't been of any interest to me for ages, it would make a pleasant change to be able to weed out the fiction from the fact, without having to wade through a load of waffle to find out.

Sounds like the perfect solution, provided writers stick to the guidelines and rules. Im not homophobic, but it seems to be that genre that attracts the seedier stories. I, as well as probably most on here, have slight sexual connotations relating to rainwear, some maybe a little more extreme than others, but there is a moral line that is crudely crossed by some, who almost delight in slurring certain members of the community.
