Sealwear

Post by Rubbersocks1999 »

I have have tried to get onto there website. I looks like they have shut up shop. So another supplier seems to have died. I wonder if the owners have returned home due to Brexit. It is a shame. Does anyone else have any more information?

A shame as their catalogue had some very fine looking shiny rubber long coats and a choice of colours. I do still have their olive green rubber bloomers and matching rugby style shirt.
Well that answers that!

I think they were my introduction to latex when they used to advertise in the national newspapers in late 60s, along with South Bucks Rainwear - if only I'd been brave enough to ask my parents to kit me out or my headmaster had taken up South Bucks offer of special terms for schools.

Now that would have been something Miker. When was young we had a childrens home near us and when the kid's went out for a walk [about 20 a time] They all wore SBR macks and wellingtons and souwesters when raining. When I saw them I always hurried up to walk behind them to get a whiff of the rubber and see all the folds moving on their tightly belted macks

And had rubber sheets on their beds, "just in case".

I used to love sniffing the rubber sheet on my bed when I was a youngster, then I'd toss and turn until the bottom sheet and blanket were rucked enough for me to feel the cool touch of it. I can't remember much from those days but I do remember that red rubber sheet. Funny how some things stick in your mind isn't it.

It's fascinating what we remember from a long time ago. I once persuaded my parents I could stay "dry" on a longish double bus trip but failed to live up to my promise. Unfortunately for me their friend whom we were visiting also had young children and suggested to my mum that she should borrow a terry nappy and a pair of plastic pants for the return journey. I was horrified and protested long and loud when the time came for them to be put on but all to no avail. That humiliating incident certainly left a long standing impression on my mind-and a shorter, but no less intense one, on my backside.

Mmm, yes. There must be many of us got our "start" into our fetish through the youthful pleasure of a rubber under-sheet on our bed. The sound of the rubber crinkling & buckling beneath the top sheet, the rubbery aroma as the bed warmed, the glimpse of rust-red rubber when we pulled back a corner of the top sheet, followed by a guilty sniff & kiss. Also the safety, security & reassurance provided by the knowledge of the rubber sheet being there in case of any little "accidents". It's many decades since my youth, but I still enjoy having a rubber sheet on my bed in times of need.
