We've just had two days of near constant rain in Melbourne and Victoria. It's absolute manna from Heaven to this dedicated pluviophile, but I digress.
I visited the Yarra Bend park located on the bank of the Yarra River this morning so I could relax in the teeming rain and hopefully spot a platypus or two (yes, they are around there). Just after arriving, another car pulled up and parked not very far away from me.
A young couple got out with a German Shepherd dog. As usual, the bloke was unimaginatively dressed for the weather in a dull black jacket & pants. When his partner emerged from the car, my jaw almost dropped to the ground.
She was wearing the most beautiful long shiny black PVC raincoat I've ever seen. It would have been around knee-length on her, but OMG it looked awesome. She'd done up the belt so the bottom folds flared out beautifully. Even in the dull grey weather, that shine was simply stunning.
I wonder if boyfriend realises what a lucky man he is.
Amazing Melbourne sighting
Re: Amazing Melbourne sighting
Yes, constant heavy rain in Williamstown, Victoria on the 13th October and I took full advantage of the opportunity to wear both my long shiny black PVC mac and my shiny black PVC cape during walks in the local parks.

Mason- great to hear! We’re one or both in wellies or some sort of rubber boots or shoes? Also, when you say dull black jacket on the guy, was it at least dull rainwear we can relate to? Like dull Stutterheim or dull Ocean or dull polyurethane jacket?
