I was in Holyday in Austria. 1 of the Trips was to where the Water Spring that ist the Source for Vienna is.

The Spring was discovered by Rome hundreds of years ago and they build the aquäducts that bring the water to all the citisens of vienna since today.

They showed a movie about how the maintenance of the aquäducts and the whole pipeline system is done every year (cleaning, repairing leakages and so on. The workers had a lot of nice rain gear in use (as you need this to work in this environmment)

Walking around a nearby harbour, I notice fishermen still have traditional rainwear(perhaps from Guy Cotten), not many of them seem to have Gore-tex waterproofs.

I have often wor my Guy Cotten Black jacket in the city, sometimes I also wear my Stutterheim raincoat. If a sunny day with possible showers of rain, I might wear my Tretorn.

I used to wear my (unlined & very smooth) heavy-duty green PVC waders for whipper-snippering (slashing) very tall grass both in, and out of a small shallow creek on a property in Melbourne's outer east, near Lilydale. The only way to access some of the grass was physically go in the water. Sadly, I'm not working there anymore.

On warm days, I'd just wear nothing but full cut Haian plastic pants under my waders, and no one was the wiser. It certainly made working a lot more sweaty, but also much more fun too.
