there must be dozens of movies, and at least a few TV series with rainwear (especially from 1975-1985) not posted elsewhere.

There is a long standing website that is right up your alley called "Lorraine Element". Try to browse for it. Lorraine has pictures and clips from all kinds of rainwear from movies from the 20's to current. Great site. Should be right up your alley.
