When I got home on Wednesday last week there was an email headed

VOGUE UK CALL IN

Obviously I checked it out before opening it and it had come from VOGUE UK

Apparently they wanted to borrow some of my items for a photoshoot taking place on Friday and Sunday of last week for a MAIN FASHION FOR OUR JANUARY issue

The email also included 6 images taken from my website

It was a surprise to get the email at all, but their choice amazed me









Yep, what Id call old fashioned plastic macs

I know Vogue arent really High Street but lots of people follow them so we might see copycat fashions appearing

Now that would be good news

Anything that get's more of these macs in the shops and on the streets would be great. Well done to you for getting the recognition.

Yes, Ray. This certainly sounds very encouraging. Vogue still has some influence. I wonder what gave them the idea for this photoshoot. Has some major manufacturer(s) indicated that they are to launch into this market, I wonder?

Thats superb ray well done, I do like their choice of classic macs, hope they publish.
May bring the mac back into fashion, fingers crossed.

Thanks people but it had very little to do with me, it was more than likely just some intern at Vogue trawling the net to find macs for the shoot

The other thing I should have said, but it was late / early when i made the post, because of the time i got the message and their deadlines I couldnt supply them with the coats they asked for

@ Domino I think if it had been manufacturer led then they would have supplied the coats, I think its more likely to be 'a be prepared for another year of rain' feature

I also missed 2 of the images

Maybe they contacted Gary at PVC-U-LIKE as well. I know he supplied a lot of the rainwear for various ITV shows like X Factor and Ant & Decs shows.

What I was thinking, Ray, was that Vogue likes to see itself as a magazine about the height of fashion and even a predictor of up-coming trends. It may be just a manufacturer's idea at this stage. "What to wear in another summer of rain" sounds more the kind of article you might find in Bella. However, I don't think any of us should get too excited just yet.

@ pvc_pete, it would make more sense for them to contact someone like Gary as he'd certainly have a lot more to offer than me, maybe they'd already contacted him

I get the impression it was all being done at a bit of a rush

Domino must be a man of iron will. I'm afraid that the photos on this thread-particularly the last two-have already proved quite sufficient for this one of our number to get more than a little excited already.

Now, WealdenMac, I think you know very well that the excitement I was referring to was the prospect of a new wave of plastic macs being manufactured. For the record, I think all the girls in Ray's pics look very sexy, not least the ones with their hoods up. I liked them all when he first posted them, too. When my girlfriend wears her plastic macs for me, I get very excited. As she puts it, "What I like most is the effect they have on your body, making you nice and hard." Who could ask for more?
