Do you like 'noisy' pvc raincoats/macs?
Hi,
To some, myself included, one appealing feature of PVC rainwear, particularly the glossy, shiny or glass clear type with a shiny finish, is the noise it makes: crackles, pops, squeaks and creaks.
Does noisy PVC rainwear appeal to you? Can you post a picture or video featuring your 'noisiest' PVC raincoat or mac?
Why is there an abundance nowadays of PVC rainwear made from a frosted, matt or semi-transparent PVC, which is rather 'quiet' (and therefore unappealing to those who prefer 'noisy' PVC)?
Where can I find these very 'noisy' glass clear or coloured, glossy, see-through raincoats/macs made from a thicker PVC material that still retains its softness? I like the type of PVC that clings/sticks to itself when folded-up.

Well I like the lady to wear rubber-lined satin mackintoshes. The noise that comes out has been called "susurrus" and it is a wonderful sound.

Thanks blackmacjay, a man after my own heart. Bring on the rubber, and all it's attributes.

Have to admit it was a frosty clear plastic rain coat and jacket that got me going. It was stiff and crackly, especially at colder temps. To this day I like noisy pvc and plastic, preferably in the clear color. I've been lucky enough to obtain a couple kart racing one piece and two piece suits that have been made with super thick very stiff plastic material. Sheer bliss! But have to be careful to keep them from tearing. It is fun to don them with that riot of crackliing, rustling snap pop. I'll provide a couple pics if I can figure out how to do it.

Seems like there are two viewpoints.
One likes PVC.
And one likes rubber in all its variations.
OK, I need a trial but I can't figure out a way so vote accordingly ................

Well I am a fairly recent rubber convert (maybe the last 6 years or so), but I also love the squeak & crackle of thick vinyl.

It is the sound is one thing turns me on.

I love wearing my rubberlined mackintoshes and thankfully, have had plenty of opportunity to do so in recent months.!!
Apart from the wonderful aroma they produce as I get warmer, I just love the rustling sound they make, particularly as they flap againt my wellingtons
