Male reactions
Male reactions
I'd like to hear of other people's experiences.
My wife regularly wears - when it is raining - her lovely long dark blue pvc raincoat. I bought it for her from Romgum who used to sell wonderfully large swirly raincoats on Ebay some years ago. It is ankle length, has a large pleat in the back, and a really big hood. Ideal for the weather we've been experiencing in the UK lately.
Here is a pic of me wearing it - it looks miles better on her:

Yesterday we were in our local supermarket, and a man we know, who was with his wife, said to my wife that her raincoat made him feel quite excited. He is not the first of our friends or acquaintances to make a similar comment; it is usually along the lines of it is sexy/erotic/kinky.
We only get any reaction from men, never from women. Is it only men that are really turned on by shiny rainwear, or in all the pics we see of women wearing sexy rainwear, are they just indulging men?

Re: Male reactions
Funny we get quite the opposite. My girlfriend wears rainwear almost exclusively rain or shine and her female work colleges comment on them all the time saying how wonderfull they are from how cool and retro/geeky her yellow macs are (Friesennerz style, my favorite) to how cute and sexy her pvc cagoules and macs look. Female Shop assistants always comment how nice they are especially when in bright coloured pvc. I have noticed that anyone over the age of forty will make an effort to actually have a stroke of the fabric.
No comment from men yet. Probably cause they'd fear me hurting them (6'1 and two hairs away from being a gorilla) My friends know about my fetish so even if one wanted to make a nice comment they wouldn't as they use it to ridicule me so no ones going to admit they like it too.
From my understanding looking at all the rainwear communities past and present it would appear almost exclusively a male fetish. However from the comments received most girls love the bright colours, the swish they make and admire how sexy a mac can look but I've found most struggle to pluck up the courage to even buy such an item let alone wear one! I can only presume it's something to do with that A. It's not trendy B. they draw a hell of a lot of attention and its a self confidence thing. C. They assume people will think they are some fetish weirdo.

Re: Male reactions
I would agree with Reversiblepete as last year I was in a garden centre and felt a hand on my arm and it was from a lady of more mature years who then apologised and then said how much she admired my PVC coat.
It usually is ladies who compliment both my wife and I when we wear our PVC coats although men do sometimes.

Re: Male reactions
Years ago me and my wife were with friends watching live music in a park near our house , i as always had my rain coat and so did my wife . Our friends did not and the evening got cool and over cast so i niped back home and brought them two coats . The red nylon coat i brought for the man immediately got a reaction as he put it ." Aw yes this is propper kinky fabric isn't it ! " he said and with a big smile . I wasnt expecting that reaction . He didnt say anymore but it does seem to be more men who notice these things . Maybe women do but just dont say it .

Re: Male reactions
I think us girls look at it More from a fabric, style, how would that look on me angle. Women always, even if subconsciously give each other the once up and down, hair, make up, clothes, shoes, bag, and either make mental style notes, log ideas for themselves, compliment someone in something we like ourselves or we find attractive, garment not just person in it. Just notice next time your out how women will check out each others clothes and comment to each other on it them if they like them. Totally normal

Re: Male reactions
Years ago when shiny rainwear was worn much more commonly, women must have bought it because they liked it, but although some women are attracted to the thought of wearing it(perhaps it makes them stand out) I think that they are not as fixated on it as male fetishists.

Re: Male reactions
While i might like to wear those at home, i try to blend in and wear normal eveyday clothing when out and about, however that does mean i can get away with a nice pvc mac or cagoule and it not stand out anymore than any other girl.
Your right on clothing choices, us girls have way more to choose from than the poor men who if they dare to wear anything slightly out of the norm get accused of all sorts, male
Patriarchy is a bummer.

I find that a good decision that you will not regret - maybe apart from being sorry for not having made that step earlier.
