These fucking arseholes somehow re-set my Youtube account for some reason known only to them, and i'be lost everything: subscriptions, playlists & favourites.

I'm also receiving this message when I click on so-called "age-restricted" videos:

"This video may be inappropriate for some users. By confirming, you agree that this warning will no longer be shown in the future." I click my agreement, but its it REFUSING TO LOAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My fucking password & everything is still the same though!!

I'm extremely angry and upset - has anybody else here had similar problems?

its an absolute fucking nightmare. Now youtube is run by google it seems they have decided its convenient to have all the accounts grouped together with one password. The only snag being that gmail and youtube have had different passwords and there is no way I can find of amalgamating the two. To use gmail password means start again with youtube and using youtube they now want me to set up a gmail account. Would that be like the one I already have and can no longer access. The whole thing is a complete mess presumably contrived by some spotty youth who hasn't realised that the internet didnt start yesterday. Rant over

Youtube is certainly having numerous problems,

Another large pain is that the whole thing seems to run a lot slower - very similar to Flickr which also requests common passwords similar to Youtube / Google now.

I learnt a while ago that these companies are trying to resolve the accessing of family censored settings so children cannot access age related material, and that these companies are slowly introducing more safeguards to help this before it becomes part of legislation.

In the UK yesterday, Virgin media are also to implement this in the next two months followed by others.

While it is very good that at last these people are doing this to prevent access of unsuitable material for young people, the trade off is that services will get slower for the foreseeable future.

Merv, I also had some settings distubed or lost with Youtube. One thing you could possibly do is back up your Youtube settings with your Internet service provider or security software. I was fortunate in the end that I had backed mine up with my Norton security software so I could reset a load of it - but it was a complete pain to re-do and time consuming.

Hope that may help.

thanks Jjai. I have managed to keep my youtube settings, after a few password changes. As for gmail, I only use it for paypal anyway so am not really bothered that I will never be able to access it again.

Looks like the youpube problems have sorted themselves out: i can view everything; even comments unlike before.

I've still got to rebuild my favourites though

Maybe we could establish a thread for this purpose: to act as a library & repository for members?
