Do you like to make and wear clear rainwear in public?

Folks:

I love to make my own crystal clear rainwear and wear it in public over my own artistic clothing.

I wonder if there are any others on our forum who love to make their own clear rainwear (coats, capes, jackets, bonets, pants; everything) and who love to wear it in public over very fine clothing?

I don't care about being naked in my clear rainwear; I just love to wear it over very fine or unique clothing, especially clothing that I make.

I also make a line of lighted clear plastic rainwear with fiber optics and LED's sewn in the seams.

You can see some of the clear rainwear that I make on my art journal at http://www.clearplastic.com as well as my home made jewelry and clothing.

I am in the Portland, Oregon area, but I would love to meet with others who like to make and wear crystal clear clothing so we can share ideas.

I remember seeing your website years ago!

Great to see you're still going strong there ... you're a real rainwear enthusiast in the truest sense of the word

Once I've got a bit more money, I might buy something ... I have a few ideas

Thanks for the compliment! I enjoy making both the lighted raincoat (that many people like) as well as the unlighted raincoats.

My thing is that they must be completely glass clear.

I am always on the hunt for the softest and clearest plastics out there. Unfortunately the last few raincoat, although they look nice, are a bit stiff, especially in colder weather.

What I really want is clear vinyl that is a supple as rubber but totally transparent. Once I find that, then watch out!

In Germany there is Funplastic.
Look there , perhaps you can buy Plagum or Gumpla ,that's PVC mixed with rubber.
They sell perhaps material..

You have some very creative rainwear creations, and I've seen them in the past. Glad you are well. I will wear "practical" rainwear outside, poncho's and some rain jackets to events and such of "frosty" clear pvc. My thing is that I actually like the stiffer stuff that crackles and rustles when you don it. Yeah, the colder weather amplifies that and can shorten the life of the garment. Nonetheless, it keeps you dry and in colder weather, getting sweaty is not an issue. Glass clear is usually very stiff, true enough.

Thanks for the compliments.

Although plastic rainwear has the utility of keeping me dry, to me, it also has the magic of being protected while being fully visible.

I often wear my rainwear as outerwear or windbreakers to keep me warm on colder days as well as having its artistic value.

What is interesting wiht me is that I find far more satisfaction being fully dressed in my home made clothing than being scatily clad or naked under the clear plastic. It's the whole ensamble that gets me going.

Now, with my lighted raincoats and lighted jewelry, I am introducing more art to what I wear.
