quite honestly george if you have an issue with pvc-u-like it may be better to contact them direct rather than single them out and try and castigate them somewhat unfairly on a public forum.

I am no expert but even if prices were to drop it will be a gradual process as it goes down the supply chain, not an overnight event

Hi George

I don't know why I'm even replying to your post but the oil price has a miniscal impact on the price of PVC. If there was an actual reduction it is so far down the supply chain it would never effect my buying price. The oil price may effect the Raw material but being the end user any reduction has been absorbed by the processing companies before I see any sheeting. Every year I have seen the price of PVC increase mainly because of the China economy booming but my prices have been kept as low as possible for many years and only recently I have had to increase prices just to break even.

You may also have noticed that Manufacturing in the UK has been decimated over the last 20 years and with increasing wage rises, establishment costs, rates and all the health and safety crap we have to put up with I wonder why I'm in business at all.

George, you are obviously watching the markets so if you see any of my competitors dropping their price because of oil prices please let me know!

Thanks for raising the subject.

regards

Gary

Gary and his team at PUL supply us all with exactly the things we all like. The product quality is fantastic, the products are reasonable priced for his limited market place and their mailing rates are ok as well. What more could we wish for to satisfy ourselves.

From one Gary to another:

Sorry to digress from rainwear to politics, but if we left the EU dictatorship, with its regulations, interference, red tape, diktat and endless string of bans, we'd be much better off. The pathetic phthalate ban was the EU's doing. The meddlesome and Nanny Statist EU has a tendency to ban and outlaw anything that gives us pleasure. Even those little vinyl pleasures. Notice how the quality and tactile qualities of plasticised PVC goods (rainwear in particular) has declined since several phthalate plasticisers have been replaced by less effective alternatives? How long before PVC will be banned altogether and replaced by inferior alternatives such as PU? If I want to expose myself to phthalates, that should be my right. There are far more harmful things in life, like those mercury-containing energy saving lightbulbs, which are fully endorsed by the EU!

Unfortunately we are lumbered with these dickheads and it seems we are unable as grown ups take decisions for ourselves!

PVC U LIKE.

Gary,

I would like to personally thank you for the outstanding business you offer and the fantastic products you supply.
Clearly all your team are very passionate about what they do, and I understand the pressures of the current retail environment.

To all here, please, please please continue to offer support for this business!

If you have not bought from PUL, give it a try?

George, please be aware that PUL strives to offer significantly better value than the high street. Enjoy it and support it!!
