I'm sure most people on here are familiar with the glass clear, smooth, shiny, pvc dome umbrellas. My question is does anyone know of a good source that sells the same pvc by rolls?

Try the Joanne fabric stores. They have a variety of "crystal" fabric. Another source would be suppliers that cater to pvc sold to boat repair shops that provide side curtains, etc for pleasure boats.

I love that kind of glass clear PVC- the 'rustling' noise it makes, its 'stickiness', the manner in which light reflects off its glossy surface, the aroma.........
I own several Fulton brand clear umbrellas made from that quality vinyl material.

Funny enough, I enquired with Fulton on whether I could procure a roll or two of the high grade clear PVC they use, with the intention of getting a custom-designed raincoat made from it. Unfortunately, they were very guarded of their PVC source, adding that the PVC they use is strictly for umbrellas only.

Those clear Fulton dome umbrellas complement PVC rainwear nicely. Cheaper clear umbrellas offered on Ebay are not made from PVC at all, but rather from EVA, polythene or 'POE PVC', which lacks the desirable characteristics of clear PVC with the 'traditional' plasticisers incorporated into it for that lovely softness.

How I would love to wrap myself up from head to toe in that material!

I see that Joanne Fabrics has sheets of vinyl. What surprised me more is that Walmart sells clear vinyl sheets by the yard. I bought about 5 different thicknesses. None like umbrella material but pretty close and just as effective;)

I found a shower curtain tgat comes pretty close. Walmart sells vinyl by the yard in different thickness also. It feels so good.
