I have a new mac. I just had to write it somewhere. It is deep dark blue and glossy. I am not quite sure what it is made of. I got it from eBay and it appears to be from Tayberry. I love it. It is a beautiful wee thing and already I have been for a wee walk in it. There is so much here I really need to get out it is really difficult to know where to start.

If it said on it that it was unisex or for a man, I just would not be interested. The item itself could be exactly the same. But unless it is a woman's raincoat, my head just is not interested. I think, perhaps, this worries me a little bit.

This new mac, though, is absolutely beautiful. It feels lovely, I have rationalised that I can wear it for normal wear - this is dangerous ground, I know. It is a slippery slope. But it just feels right. Sometimes one feels that about an item. It just feels right.

Is it okay to post this kind of thing here? I do not know where else to go. I love my new mac and I just had to tell someone. That is all.

I have a shiny yellow PVC-U-LIKE long raincoat, I wear it almost everyday. The feeling of it is great.

The quality is excellent. When it arrived it was packaged so beautifully, properly wrapped, proper tags, each individual button wrapped in tissue. Somehow, if someone has taken that amount of care and attention over packaging, it really influences how you feel about it. And it's so cute!

Recently bought a definitely unique rain mac from armorlux in France. Aluminium grey , extremely good quality, keeps warm and is realy pleasant to wear :

They're based in Brittany. I believe that's where Guy Cotten is based, as well - I bought a raincoat direct from them and love the quality.

Is there something about the weather in that part of France that I should know about? Perhaps we should see for ourselves the next time we visit Europe!

Have visited Benodet in Brittany twice for holidays, July / August & has similar climate / weather to Cornwall
Both times we were subjected to periods of heavy rain , plus of course it is a yachting area
May explain the makers being there
